Book individual sessions for $45 per session.
Payments made on the day are by credit or debit card via tap payment only.
Whole Term Upfront – $375
Book all 10 sessions for $375, equivalent to just $37.50 per session.
Payment is due by 20 September 2026.

Program Overview
This program is designed for Prep and Grade 1 students who would benefit from extra support or extension with the early maths skills that form the foundation for future learning.
The first session includes an informal, play-based assessment to help identify the strengths and needs of the group. From there, activities are selected to support the concepts that will have the greatest impact on each child's confidence, understanding and success in the classroom.
At this age, children learn best by seeing, touching, moving and talking about maths. Students use games, counters, cubes, dice, number lines and other hands-on materials to explore mathematical ideas in a meaningful way.
There are no worksheets, no screens and no pressure — just purposeful, engaging maths experiences designed to help children understand numbers and feel confident using them.

Depending on the needs of the group, students may work on:
- Counting forwards and backwards
- Recognising, reading and writing numbers
- One-to-one counting and matching quantities to numerals
- Subitising — recognising small quantities without counting
- Comparing numbers and quantities
- Understanding more, less, before and after
- Ordering and sequencing numbers
- Number bonds and part-part-whole thinking
- Early addition and subtraction
- Making and breaking numbers in different ways
- Skip counting and recognising simple number patterns
- Early place value concepts, including tens and ones
- Using number lines and counting-on strategies
- Sharing and grouping as an introduction to multiplication and division
- Simple measurement, shape and pattern concepts
- Solving simple maths problems and explaining mathematical thinking
Activities are adapted to suit the developmental level and learning needs of the children in each group.
Session Format
Each 45-minute session typically includes:

For younger learners, activities are kept short, varied and interactive to maintain engagement while giving children lots of opportunities to practise important skills.

Limited Spots
Each group is strictly limited to five students.
Keeping our groups small allows younger children to receive plenty of individual teacher support while still benefiting from learning, playing and problem-solving alongside other students.

About Your Teacher
Ms Allwright is a VIT-registered primary school teacher with more than 10 years of classroom teaching experience across schools in Melbourne and Canada.
She is passionate about making mathematics interactive, practical and accessible, particularly during the early years when children are developing the number sense and confidence that will support all of their future maths learning.
Her focus is on helping children understand why maths works, rather than simply memorising answers or procedures.
Thursday 15 October: Ms Allwright will be away on holiday for Session 2. This class will be taught by her Boxxi Maths colleague, Ms Molanaar-White.

School Report
If possible, please bring your child's most recent school report to their first session — even if you only bring the Mathematics section.
For Prep students who have not yet received a detailed school report, any information from their teacher about current maths strengths or areas for development is also welcome.
This information helps us better understand your child's current learning and identify areas that may benefit from additional support.
Tutoring Session Policy
Parent or Guardian Supervision
A parent or guardian is required to remain on-site during tutoring sessions, either inside the venue or within the immediate car park area.
Missed Sessions & Refunds
Refunds are not available for change of mind or missed sessions, including absences due to illness or other personal circumstances.
Where space is available, a make-up session may be offered in another Boxxi Maths class. Make-up sessions cannot be guaranteed.
Illness
Please do not attend if your child is acutely unwell.
If your child is recovering from an illness but has a lingering cough, we kindly ask that they wear a mask where possible to help protect other students and teachers.
