Program Overview

This program is designed for Prep and Grade 1 students who would benefit from additional support with the foundational maths skills that underpin future learning.

The first session includes an informal assessment to identify the needs of the group. From there, lessons are tailored to focus on the skills that will have the greatest impact on student confidence and success in the classroom.

Using real materials and hands-on activities, students develop understanding through doing. There are no worksheets, no screens, and no pressure—just engaging learning designed to help children feel successful in maths.

Skills We May Cover

Depending on the needs of the group, students may work on:

• Recognising, reading and writing numbers

• Counting and one-to-one correspondence

• Comparing quantities (more, less and equal)

• Number bonds and part-part-whole thinking

• Addition within 10 and 20

• Early subtraction concepts

• Patterns and sequencing

• Mathematical language and reasoning

• Applying maths skills through games and real-world situations

Session Format

Each 45-minute session includes:

• 5-minute warm-up

• 15-minute activity

• 15-minute activity

• 10-minute reflection and challenge

Ms. Allwright has over 10 years of teaching experience across schools in Melbourne and Canada. She is passionate about making learning interactive, practical, and accessible for all students.

Ensure your email address and phone number are correct, as we will contact you with further information before the program begins.

If possible, please bring your child's most recent school report to their first session (even if it's just the Mathematics page). This helps us better understand their current learning and plan activities that target the skills they need most.

Tutoring Session Policy

Parents/guardians are required to remain on-site during tutoring sessions (either inside the venue or within the immediate car park area).

Refunds are not available for change of mind or missed sessions, including those due to illness or other personal circumstances. A make-up session will be offered if space is available in another class.

If your child has been recently unwell or has a lingering cough, we kindly ask that they wear a mask where possible to help protect other students and the teacher.
